| Jerry K. "Toby" Mullins, Sr.
Mr. Jerry Mullins, Sr., age 70, of Marco Island, FL, formerly of New Castle, DE, died on Saturday, January 13, 2007, at the Hospice House in Naples, FL. Mr. Mullins was born in Caretta, WV on August 11, 1936, son of the late James H. Mullins, Sr. and Grace Meadows Mullins. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. A locomotive engineer by profession, he enjoyed a long career with SEPTA until his retirement. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of New Castle for the past 40 years. Active in the Masonic Order for many years, Mr. Mullins was a member of the Unity Lodge #32 and was Past Associate Bethel Guardian for the International Order of Job's Daughters, both in Newport. In his leisure hours, he greatly enjoyed fishing, boating, crabbing, golfing and tennis. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Mullins will be fondly remembered by family and friends for his great sense of humor and endless hospitality. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Greata Hess Mullins; 3 sons, Jerry Mullins, Jr. (Elaine), of Smyrna; Timothy Mullins (Lisa), of Newark and Alan Mullins (Tracy), of Dover; daughter, Karen Collins (Wayne), of Newark; 2 brothers, Archie Mullins, of Lake Placid, FL and Thomas Mullins, of Naples, FL; a sister, Marilyn Fraser, of Naples, FL; 6 grandsons; and 4 granddaughters. He was preceded in death by a brother, James H. Mullins, Jr.; and a sister, Alverta Largen. Friends may call 7-9 pm, on Friday, January 19, at the SPICER-MULLIKIN FUNERAL HOME, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle. A funeral service will be held at 10 am, on Saturday, January 20, at the funeral home, with a Masonic service at 9:45 am.
